| Big Black – Jump The Climb Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Oh my god, I'm not alone. Big Black's songs like this one, others include "Steelworker", "Bad Houses", and "Tiny, King of the Jews", they make me feel fucking empowered. |

| Dinosaur Jr. – Repulsion Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
"I feel your eyes upon me, how should I act today? To feel so unsure always, give up or now keep on this way." He feels pressure to act right around this girl he likes, but is not sure if it's worth his effort. "*epic solo*" Because J Fucking Mascis. "The silence taps my elbow, it's good, at least that's what you said. I could run but I stand and read it (boredom won't stop as long as I feed it)." He feels worried by the silence between them, but the girl says "naw, I'm fine". He could just walk away from her, but he tries to make sense of it all instead so he can be with her. "The world drips down like gravy, with thoughts of love, so hazy. Everyone's ideal of fun: repulsion" When he's around this girl, everything is soft, molten, flowing, beuatiful, hazy. And then the part of him that wants to walk away claims to be repelled by the thought of love and sex because he frets rejection. "Try to wake up, try to break it open. It's not quite what I'm feeling, I'll just keep on hoping" Although he tries to snap himself out of the idea, he just "keeps on hoping", because it's the only thing he knows how to do. "The girls all smile and say hello, and darkness drags me back home. It's just so hard to face it. I'm still hated, still alone" This line pretty much speaks for itself. In conclusion, I think this song is about the pain that love brings, in that though we are unsure about the prospect if we've been hurt before, it's something we'll go after anyway. |

| Swans – Stupid Child Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Gira is raping a child. That is it. | |
| Dinosaur Jr. – No Bones Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I thinks he means "no bones" as in "we make no bones about it". | |
| Butthole Surfers – Pepper Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I think it's about how we cross in life and cross in death too, in often times bizzare ways. | |
| Talking Heads – Houses In Motion Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I think that this song is the narrator of "Once In A Lifetime" before reaching the point talked of in that song viewed through the eyes of those around him, watching him "digging his own grave", worrying about the future and implied rather than the constant ("let the water hold me down"), present, happening, and he still views time as holding him. It is the idea of a construct vs. a constant, so to speak. | |
