| I don't think the 9/11 interpretation is quite accurate. Not everything happens in America. This seems to be more about a suicide bombing in Israel/Palestine. Note the line, "Moses lay in pieces from some 17-year-old bomb." This would suggest a teenage Palestinian suicide bomber, and the reference to Moses also suggests the Holy Land. It seems this could be written from the point of view of an observer living in Jerusalem who just wants to live a normal life, but the violent politics of the place keep getting in the way. Fear of having a "normal" (yet privileged, when considering Palestinian conditions) life violently disrupted is an intense part of the Israeli narrative. | |
