| Stevie has said that she only writes about what she has lived through. She intentionally doesn't say who any song is about. To quote her" she doesn't want to hurt people that might be effected by her life", which is why she has never written an autobiography. We can all guess but, that really is a waste of time. She wants us all to relate her songs to the loves in our lives, to learn from her,not to pick apart who she is singing about. That is what makes her lyrics so accessible to your emotions. This particular song can relate to anyone. We all have had someone sometime that we loved, we wanted, and they didn't want us. Or that for one brief moment two of us loved, but,then had to part forever. Stevie is amazing, I have been listening since 1973 Buckingham /Nicks album and still remain completely fascinated by her words and her emotions and still find new people to turn onto Stevie and they always end up loving her too. livestrongstaystrong,Thank you for an insightful post. I want to say that your assessment of the way he is feeling, I think, is obvious. Your picture of what is going on inside his head is correct. He longs for her, but, she isn't his, so he can only look from the outside and wish he could make it better for her. |
