I don't think this is as hopeful a song as some have alluded to. I think the idea is that the person is in a rough spot in their life and they're just trying to keep it together but the depressive spiral is getting to them. The lines "but look up, rain is falling looks like love" says to me that the individual is starting to accept and like being sad, potentially falling in love with the gloominess that rain might represent. Just a thought... Does anyone else hear "hurricane that keeps you there, sane" or is it just me? |
