| I am pretty sure this song is about an artist, or a band, from another country coming to America to sell their music and reach the world through it. The sense of missing home, feeling artificial and foreigner and seeing in the USA all the power, the richess, the charming lights that lure so many immigrantes, that sort of things that you - who comes from abroad - feel you cannot quite understand, value and own, because you actually dont belong there. But you still wanna be a success, as A-Ha did, so you go there, work hard, get to be displayed as a merchandise, and eventually are used abused and disposed as dead when the big bosses and the media cannot sell you with enough profits anymore. There is nobody to blame, its business, but its cruel and as cold as ice. | |
