Such a beautiful song, with so much meaning. I really like this version. His voice sounds amazing! I think this song is about searching for a love which isn't just materialistic and average. I think he's searching for a true, real passionate love, where each person can just be themselves. He's obviuosley been waiting for the right person in order to have a 'higher love', and I think he will remain searching for it "I will wait for it, I'm not too late for it" until he finds it and is purely happy. |

This is just my opinion and I don't think there is a right or wrong answer, interpretation and all that. I agree mostly with what others are saying. I think this is a song about the effects of drugs. Maybe not so much the physical effects of a really hard drug, maybe more the emotional and relationship aspects of a 'softer' drug. I believe this song is about watching someone deteriorate after trying to help and make them realise what they're doing but failing. And the hurt and self-disappointment you feel when going through that. However, I then begin to feel the speaker in this song is almost warning others of what happenned saying it will just be the same story and if I could do anything more I would have. This is ultimatley a very moving song which has now become one of my favourites. I cannot wait for the new album from the Fray in March. |
