| Everlast – Hot To Death Lyrics

@[Paul:31476] Finch the song is about meth.I'm sure he means drugs by "who's your god?" - which drug takes your money. Everlast used to do it, I believe he quit after he almost died having a heart attack. "Front to back, right to left" refers to the way you roll the glass pipe when smoking it so not burn it. "Get your heart pumpin' like some crystal meth..." speaks for itself. He also mentions meth in at least one other song I can think of, "Next Man" - "You sold your soul now you're fearing your death, sniffin' crystal meth til there ain't none left". "Friend", "Weakness", "Put Your Lights On" and "I Can't Move" are also about doing meth and "Ends" is about crack. |

I see it more as a statement to women who may not be beauty queens, but have natural beauty and inner beauty, of which Neil says, "a natural beauty should be preserved like a monument in nature". To the natural beauties: "don't judge yourself too harsh my love, or one day you might find your soul endangered". Love yourself, for who you are, be yourself, or lose your soul... |

It is such a beautiful song that I want to find romantic meaning in the love that is his salvation, but I tend to think he is literally talking about his siblings when he says "my brother" and "my sister", and thus it is his family's love that saves him. They who are his home. I don't think it is meant to be a hymn at all. Of course, I could be wrong... |

@[ikvoria:7119] He doesn't say when he has lost all things he owns, but rather when he has lost ALL CARE for things he owns.
"weight of this crazy stone" = weight of the world? He lets go of the load on his shoulders, forgets about material things, and longs for home. Whoever is his home. |

@[HawaiiJack:2282] No one is that retarded HyperBully. He's obviously kidding, probably making fun of all of the people who state the obvious - that the song is about drugs. It is kind of silly to even be discussing it, being that it is so obvious.

@[thewishkah:2281] I believe it was even earlier than that. I have seen videos and I have a CD from Massey Hall 1971. So unless Neil could see into the future, it was not about Kurt Cobain. Jeez! |

@[Fishhawk:2280] You mean a verb? Yes he is clearly using milk as a verb. Whether he means re-injecting your own blood to get high or trying to draw blood so you know you have a vein (both of which get you high and keep you from dying/running out) is a matter of debate. I personally think the latter, as I have never heard of re-injecting (doesn't seem like there would be much in there if you are so desperate to get high, meaning you haven't done so in a while), but I don't know. Does it work with beer? If your beer contains heroin, sure. |
