What leads you to believe there was a break up?.... when a musician projects his life into his work, that's what you get. In otherwords, the whole album gives cues to some "indifference" or "loss". To exactly what, we (not being a part of his mind or life) will never truly know... now shush, and enjoy the expression of his work :) |

p.s. when I think of Erika and Isadore climb in the "balloon", I think of being pregnant. What woman hasn't been compared to a balloon during pregnancy - and the fact that the uterus is compared to a balloon.
Also, listen how Brandon sings the song... he sounds endearing..very sad sounds like he wanted "Isadore" to be known, but maybe she lost it (cause there is no known fact that he has a child yet)
So logically if he wrote the song right, it would mean she had high aspirations maybe they both wanted children, maybe he was too busy too scared - who knows. But it sounds like she wants to leave him cause those aspirations haven't been met, and she's taking everything away that he's given her - even possibly a child? ...Maybe she wanted an abortion and he cant forgive her because it's not "who you were, its who you now are" But that statement can apply in a general sense to any relationship.... but on & on... meaning only lies in our own interpretation. Only he and those close to him will ever only know the true meaning. And a musician is the voice of expression, not explaination. Just as you may write something... |
