I agree with the above interpretations... I think the first line notes he can't help but go back to what she conjures in him... He's able to "desert" himself, and he gets hooked. Also, I feel like this woman joins him on tour at times, but things turn into a mess. She is overbearing and annoying; she gets drunk and then crashes on the couch When I hear "grim rite", I think of how sleep is so close to death. She gets drunk, she's in this stupor, and she sleeps/dies, which causes their relationship to die as well. He takes her back though on tour "we have 200 couches"... I feel he's also saying this to other woman as well |
