Such an upbeat song. He had a huge talent for writing amazing lyrics and they match the beat perfectly, and the tempo, it's all just perfect to a tee! Perfectionist at work! He's declaring his love for someone, and how he has waited so long for this person, and now that she's in his life, he wants to give himself to her completely. He's in the honeymoon stage of shouting it from the rooftops, as he's constantly declaring 'YOU ROCK MY WORLD!' Oh, Michael, I miss you. I feel like the world feels different without you. I wonder how many followers you'd have on twitter... |

S&M, Rihanna said, was her favourite video to make. I love it, the themes of the song are clear, the media is attacking her by calling her all of these names (displayed in the video) but she 'likes it', because it's making her stronger 'The affliction of the feeling leaves me wanting more' She acknowledges her behaviour 'I may be bad, but I'm perfectly good at it' - This is me, whether you like it or not. 'Sticks and stones may break my bones but chains and whips excite me' - I feel like she's likening the media's attempts to attack her, to using chains and whips on her, and infact, she enjoys it, so they should keep doing it! 'The pain is my pleasure, and nothing can measure' The childish wording with sticks and stones goes well with the video, the colour scheme is brightly coloured, rather childish, she is tied up in liquorice as well, and licking ice cream. |

| The lyrics look mixed up in the first verse, I swear it's 'I pitch with a grenade/Swing away if you're feeling brave' and then in the second verse it's 'Cos if you play it sideways/Ain't no time out in my game' - I never thought it was about a guy, I thought it was about her successes etc, she's puffed up in her first verse ie pitching with a grenade shows her danger, and you should be 'feeling brave' if you want to challenge her. It's talking about her power. Even in the bridge when she talks about someone she loves, she says 'You're the only way I'll win' I don't think it's solely about someone that she's 'chosen' I think it's about her and this mystery person taking on something that requires her to be powerful. | |

This is one of my favourite songs - such beautifully written lyrics, simple but powerful. 'The only problem is that you was using me/In a different way than I was using you' Her addiction to him, she was hooked on him so strongly she likens him to her 'favourite drug' yet he was simply using her. She is almost humiliated in this song and tries to sound strong but knowing she is too weak - needing rehab means you can't do it by yourself. Such a sad song, but wonderful! I love you Rih and Justin Timberlake! |
