I don't think these lyrics are accurate. It's hard to say for sure what he says for sure, but I'm pretty positive he is NOT saying "Give all your leaves To the ghosts in the trees" Sounds more like "Keep all your leves and ghosts in the beads" leves as in reference to prayers, and ghosts in the beads a reference to prayer beads. |

when i listen i hear Go, oh the waters not so bad you'll go numb in a bit its really not so bad watching your pride sinking down really is so bad folly wheres your crown? it seemed to fit the whole metaphor the song was trying to make. someone who fucks up a lot and refuses to ask for help. then they finally fall through the ice at around 1:25 when the song slows down. this relates to the earlier verse when he says if you break through all you have to do is reach up your hand and ask for help. basically its having to decide to go numb and sink with your pride, or ask for help. maybe its open ended or something, but to me it implies they do not ask for help and indeed just drown with their heavy crown, rather than abandon the crown and get out. i assume the crown is a metaphor for pride. though i guess the other way to see it is theyre in the water and they lose the crown, and that would be the "watching your pride sinking down", and then "folly, where's your crown?" maybe is being asked back on the surface? not really sure. |
