yes, Ginger Baker kills! He is one of the best!
Anyways, this song is so psychedelicalicious (there, made up a song). Blues and psychedelia just go together so well in this song that I would almost say this is the ultimate Cream song. |

| The Velvet Underground – Beginning to See the Light Lyrics

Mmmm...the meaning of life is to see the light. Hahaha.
Okay, the two things this song may be saying are pretty different. It's either sarcastic, pointing out to the fact that, basically, ignorance is bliss and ignorance is the light (we can even see this as Lou Reed seeing the fact that The Velvet Underground weren't popular because they weren't making popular music).
We can also just see the meaning of life as a big 'fuck you, I live my life the way I want to and fuck everyone else', which would make sense in lines like 'wine in the morning and some breakfast at night' and the fact that there are so many problems but woooooooooooooo! none of them are mine! |

| The Housemartins – Get Up Off Our Knees Lyrics

Music's biggest Marxists...for a while anyways.
This song opposes workers' exploitations by the few. If they resurrected The Housemartins today with the whole occupy movement and the 99% deal, their popularity would most likely sky-rocket. |

| Queen – Stone Cold Crazy Lyrics

This song is certainly the one that would appeal to kids the most. By kids, I mean the kids that love Metallica and all that (not for nothing, Metallica did cover it, haha). But what I'm trying to say is that is this is a great song, but show this to kids over, say, Killer Queen, and they will love this more.
The lyrics themselves are very childish. A nonsensical story about a gangster. I used to write lyrics like these for fun when I was six or seven. This song was written by Mercury before Queen even existed as a band. But it's all in the name of good fun! |

| Elvis Presley – I've Lost You Lyrics

Man, Elvis sings this song so well. He really sounds desperate in it. Makes you believe it. What an amazing man, and I wish everyone believed the hype. Even in his later days, he was amazing. This song, of course, is about a break up. Interesting to see Elvis tackle sadder human themes in his latter days. In the Ghetto, of course, is the prime example. But check out others like Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues. I guess it comes with being older and more mature. |

| David Bowie – Oh! You Pretty Things Lyrics

once again I have to point out the bullshit meanings this website is getting for a song.
Sorry. This song is about the superman theory by Nietsche. Google it. Bowie, around this time was a strong supporter of that theory, but being inconsistent, he did eventually change his mind. He believed in the evolution of man into a Homo Superior, a better man in every way. |

People,
eyes without a face = good looks, no personality.
yeah, this song is a bitter song, but I'm surprised with the amount of bullcrap meanings you are giving this song. |

Terry is a girl. I know the name is ambiguous, but the person really existed and died in the late 2000s. Anyways, I kinda think this is about platonic love rather than lustful or passionate love.
The piano at the start is amazing. |

| A-Ha – The Sun Always Shines on TV Lyrics
| 14 years ago
|
The MunDial is talking so much shite!
The song is about things falling apart all around us, so much so that if we really realised how hopeless everything was we would probably go insane. But no matter how bad it always gets, the sun always shines on TV, meaning, according to TV everything is cool (we are being brainwashed into believing everything is okay). |

| Carly Simon – When You Close Your Eyes Lyrics

To me this song means that people, no matter how hard they try, will never totally please anyone. Perhaps it may even mean that it's not worth it. I'm guessing there is some sort of secret and personal pop cultural reference, seeing as in this album 'No Secret' Carly Simon has a few. |

| Morrissey – Sorry Doesn't Help Lyrics

|
Years of Refusal is a very bitter album. This song is a weak one in an otherwise very good album, but it's easy to see how well it fits with the theme. Again, enigmatic. Morrissey depicts a scene that obviously haunted the life of his character in his teen years and something he is unable to forgive. |

| Queen + Paul Rodgers – Through The Night Lyrics

Brian May's guitar always sounds sexy no matter what crap he plays. Yes, the Queen-Paul Rodgers album was mostly weak sauce, but this is one of the less crap songs. Doesn't exactly say much. I have nothing against Roger Taylor and Brian May wanting to play together again, but without Deacon and Mercury they should have just picked a different name. The song writing is quite lazy... |

This album is so sadly underrated. It's a good hear! I re-discovered this song and was totally surprised by how mature this song sounds. The chorus sounds epic, a little cinematic too. |

| Huey Lewis and the News – If This Is It Lyrics

I really don't know how their Power of Love works so well in Back to the Future, but it does. However, I strongly believe that Huey Lewis and the News suck ass. The production in their songs is cheesier than cheese, everything is so clean and it's like this song belongs in a redneck south western bar, or with 40 something year olds wanting to think they are rocking out. No doubt people that like this song love Bryan Adams. Done with the hate - this has a good vocal part, that is undeniable. |

| The Modern Lovers – Someone I Care About Lyrics

Jonathan Richman often writes about longing for a normal boy girl relationship. It really is an alienated sort of a scene to portray, being used to more sex and unusual love in most modern music. It's very close to something the Beach Boys tried to say in songs like 'Wouldn't it Be Nice' (and succeeded, by the way). Anyways, there is definitely a scene of a normal teen longing for normality and a girlfriend in this song. |

It's hard to hate this song. I used to think it was amazing when I was a teen (which is only a few years ago, I was born in 89), but I have since radically changed my views on music, so all I see this song now is cheesy fun. I still like the bridge. |

totally confused about what circusjuggler tried to say there. The lyrics are paranoid and the synth music totally conveys the feeling of the song. I think this song and Sweet Dreams are the two songs where Eurythmics reached an original style that ultimately makes them relevant and influential. |

| Pet Shop Boys – You Know Where You Went Wrong Lyrics

Like most Pet Shop Boys songs, I have absolutely no idea what the lyrics mean. But hey, they predate Oasis. I do have to say that this song is produced very well and I just think there is definitely jazzy elements that are very interesting. Personally, I love the instrumental in the middle and the bit after the chorus, the bit that goes like 'this is the history of the world'. It's a nice chilled out melody and atmosphere. Really cool. |

Got this with Windows Media Player. It's fantastic. There was a time when I was a kid when I would have killed to have been able to play piano like this. What am I saying, I would still go crazy to play piano like this. Anyways, I always liked this kind of frantic cold jazz, it's just so good and the band is so tight. Really good and a nice atmosphere with it. |

This is just perfect. No other band could ever write a pop punk song as perfect as this one here. It's got a dreamy kind of mood, but still a naive kind of sexy feel as well. Of course, it's all very working class glamorous, which is the Blondie feel throughout. It's playful. Basically, it's everything. |
