it has been a pleasure to read all of your takes on how this song and music moves you. what images and thought forms are brought to your minds in the experience of it. My introduction to this song was Jeff Buckley's version which affected me beyond words. I can only say that i have seen her bathing on the roof and her beauty in the moonlight overthrew me. Faith is not something described so easily or held easily for that matter. David is baffled. Weakness and frailty is real. This song takes me to the places where my words vanish into the ocean. i feel that perhaps Jeff Buckley used dissonance on his intro to depict the baffled king. Regardless of the singer it's my hope that people consider that Soul exists in lyrics alone |
