| This is definitely my favorite song on the album. My interpretation is that it's showing our passive lack of control of life and death. I'm think that the sandman represents death; the brakeman represents fate/God; and the train represents the course of life. He is sitting on a train which has a fixed course and is simply watching and waiting to fall asleep. Just like we are going through life on a fixed course and simply watching and waiting to die. | |
