Very straightforward message here. I first thought maybe he was shot in the back (by his boss) and dying during the vision, but then the admonition makes no sense. |

Thanks for the reply - don't worry about the use of condoms - got it covered! ;)
I didn't think of the sex angle at all on this song - good one. Are you referring to yourself in the last line there? If so, good for you. Peace... |

Love the slow groove of this song and the raw honesty in JJ's voice. (Of course, his voice is always like that.) Lyrics are not straightforward, in that I'm not sure if he is fussing and fighting with the girl, or with someone else and he dreams of being with his girl when that happens. A third option is that he's talking about the world at large when he says 'we', therefore he is complaining of the upheaval all around him, in general terms.
This could even be written from the perpsective of a soldier overseas, longing for his girl back home.
Either way, he just wants to be with her, and she is his sunshine. |

Haunting guitar, great groove to this sone. @swatties - on one level, I agree with this interpretation - its the first thing I thought of too. However, unless he's a wandering do-gooder walking the streets intent on helping others out of addiction, I think some of the other ideas posted above might work as well.
One last thought that might tie the two together: he is wandering as his band tours, and he does have the platform to speak to thousands of people (many of whom might be suffering with addiction,) at the same time. So it might make perfect sense... |

Hmm, interesting take on it. I can't say I agree that the writer had this in mind, but that's what makes most music so great - it's open to various interpretations. |

Just my $.02, but I think it means flattery leads you to compromising your values (a business deal, or meeting someone in a bar,) which will lead to an act that will be wrong for you and/or others. You may be the one doing the flattering, or the one receiving it. Whether you're talking about a sin or even just a bad money decision, its a bad outcome. If it is bad enough, it could eventually lead to 'the end' = your death, or destruction of your life as you know it. |

Good song. Lesson = can't judge a book by it's cover, and that you can almost always find some common ground with a complete stranger, if you try hard enough. (Love of home and warm memories from teenage years are pretty universal ones.) Travel is a great 'equalizer' for people - that is, it is easy to meet interesting people who are going to the same place for a variety of reasons. And, if you're lucky, maybe you can even make new friends. |

This is looking at the fleeting nature of time from the younger person's view, albeit with counseling from the parent. It can be put together with 'Then They Do', which is from the parents' view, to create bookends for the whole topic. If you are a parent, you cannot listen to either one without getting emotional about your own life, parents and kids. That reminds me, its time for some hugs... |

No comments? I guess the lesson is to do all this important stuff throughout your relationship, before it's too late. Because in reality, if you get to the point of dividing assets, the conversation won't be nearly this nice/mushy and hopeful for a reconcilation. It will just be over |

you might be right about 2 different loves. if so, its all the more interesting that the average age of the members was 18 in 2008 when this was released. very mature for their age, or the lyrics are written by someone older. either way, I like it... |
