I disagree, I think this song is more about someone achieving happiness and peace in life, but after years of hardship and sorrow and she and her lover are afraid of life suddenly turning dark on them and them being miserable again. "And though the cross feels lighter, on a warm midsummer's night, why do we then still feel so cold inside." and their fear of living that life again drives them away from eachother and this concerns her as she realizes that the only way to to make the fear cease is let everything rest, be happy with life and live in the present "life is only passing gently by" but thats just my interpretation. |
