This song, like any great song, isn't "about" any single thing bro. To me it's about the same thing most (best) early modest mouse is about; the absurdity of modern life. I see two frustrated lovers traveling somewhere, taking dramamine for the motion-sickness, and just feeling really scattered and confused about their relationship and just life. Dramamine can definitely get you feeling a bit "fucked up" and dreamy, especially if you're driving. |

I think it's pretty obvious it has to do with this being their first "real" cd, that they're "really" selling. And beyond that, I think it's about what it really means to "sell" something, and beyond that the values we apply to our actions and perceptions in general. Are drug dealers evil? Is trying to sell an album like this? |
