Are you serious? I mean I get the needle/heroin connection a little bit, but really? It's even called 45. How do you listen to TGL and not know what a 45 is? It's a RECORD. The symbolism is really straight forward here. Needle, 45, turn the record over. . . |

Zed Lep is seriously the only person who seems to have gotten this right. That seems insane to me. I always thought it was rather obvious that the song is about losing this girl. But she's not there is not literal. Most songs aren't literal. It always seemed to me that this was a girlfriend he was talking about. But it really is never said outright. Just my inference. Either she is someone the person in the song has not known long and that people knew she had a history of drugs but never told him. Now it's too late b/c she isn't there as far as her mind goes. Her mind is gone. It might be an overdose but I always thought it meant the drugs had taken her mind and had people just let him know he might have been able to help her. My two cents. :-) |
