Yea, this song is fantastic, most def. First off, I think it's meant to be sad. Winter is a sad season after all. 1. "the splinter inside me" - their voice, their name just digs into them 2. "I remember the truth" - remembering the good and bad moments, as they are 3. "I don't have to make this mistake, and I don't have to stay this way" - being with them is wrong, for whatever reason, and he has a choice, no matter what 4. "I could have lost myself in rough blue waters in your eyes" - almost lost who they were, values, everything, to that person Might just be I'm coming off of a bad break up, but this song seems melancholy to me, bittersweet about what they are losing, but they know what they have to do. |
