The Moody Blues – The Voice Lyrics 14 years ago
First line sets the stage. "Won't you take me back to school, I need to learn the golden rule. The Golden Rule is "to do unto others as you would do unto them". Then the song gets personal between the singer and his love. A balance seems to take place. Each and every rising sun, is greeted by a lonely one. Life becomes a series of contradictions and the singer needs the reassurance of his love that she still loves him throughout the ups and downs of life. "Cause out of the ocean of life my love. There are so many storms we must rise above. When out deep in the ocean you can never see the land, just like you can never see the future. You only feel the waves like the ups and downs of any loving relationship. She has began to fall off the balance of life and love and the spirit of life and love is calling her back to face the waves of life and face the music, or to deal with the reality. Make a promise, take a vow, it's easy now that you are listening to your gut feelings, that voice within you, that guidance that leads us through life's decisions, if we listen carefully to ourselves. Then we will stay on the path of life that each and everyone of us creates and is unique but sometimes we do find our soul mate, although it can take a lot of waves to carry us to the right person. Learn from mistakes, expect them but never get lost in the waves. Deep seas can drift you everywhere but where you want to be. It's up to you to find your way because there is nobody like you.
