| Someone posted a comment about not being able to physically stand next to God, but what we must all see is that God's relationship with each one of us is actually the most intimate we will have in our lifetime even though we cannot see Him. It is more intimate than that with a parent or a spouse. He knows us more than we know ourselves. This song resonates in a very deep place with me, because I have recently realized, coming out of a ten year hardship, that during my most painful times, God was working in the background in my life, preparing me to wake up several years later. Even when I felt most abandoned, and did everything possible to sabotage my life, He brought me to the place I am today. I knnow Him now like I never could have before, and I am in awe at how much love He has for me. Although the connection with the one who is to be our life partner should be stronger than any other human connection and fulfill us at an extremely deep place in our soul, I cannot deny the greatness of the love God has for me in the care He showed toward me and the process He began inside of me even when I was in extreme pain. There is no greater or more intimate love than the love He has for each one of us. | |
