This song is about Christ, the church, and the day of the Lord. just like a lot of other songs out there. Skinny love describes the self-centered love a christian has for God. The take, without the give. Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness, but that doesn't mean he wasn't tested. Pour a little salt, refers to complete destruction of the human race, for another restart in 50 or so thousand years. Pour salt on the ground, nothing grows. Suckle on the hope- Christianity is based on the milk of the Word(simple belief), when we should be eating the meat(living for others, not ourselves) I told you to patient, etc. is a reference to 1 Corinthians 13, a description of true love. I'll be holding all the tickets, blood in the sink, crushed veneer- Christ as the Judge in Revelations. You'll be holding all the fines- everyone will be judged for what they do. In the morning I'll be with you- the return of the Morning Star, after He is cut down from the cross, leaves with His light, and the Darkness(man without His Light) takes over until morning. Who will love you, fight, fall behind- who will pass the coming test, who will choose the fellow man over the self, who will not be afraid to suffer and die for the right, who will fail. Wake up. |

Kha lif as,or mark an 6. Sorry, backspace broke. what I meant was; It's as if His heart is broke because he knows this girl inside and out. Like they were childhood sweet hearts, or Soul-mates. You can almost read it as being, not just the woman's but, also his nervous break down. Like the reference to the fool in school, maybe that was him. something that happened that enabled her to be the Selfish B--ch she is. But he's still there. trying to fix her. Trying to make her see how much he loves her. Trying to teach her. If it was some other fool that messed her up, why would he stay. 19 times has to be true love. I wonder how old they are. what if they're in a retirement home. Or, I could also be way out there, and reading way to much into it. Help! |
