Beau said that this song is about a guy from a popular band who was spreading rumors and basically being really hard on him. Preach your "gospel": (it actually has the quotes but they didn't show up in the lyrics) The idea is that the guy thinks that his words are divine, that he has some power over Beau, and to his fans, he's taken very seriously and worshiped. And in the next line, Beau says that he can choke on it. All you built is in ruins: I think he's trying to get across that if this guy keeps treating people like this, he won't have any fans left. Same with "you'll be forgotten." And the last lines. Since this dude is really popular, he's a hero to some. The last lines are for the fans. blessthefall won't fall, even when guys like that are hard on them. |

Am I crazy for thinking this song is about the crucifixion of Jesus? "I won't let your voice be silenced" - Jesus promising God that he won't let His word die. "Blood is dripping from my hands." - The nails driven into his wrists. "One last chance for salvation" - The promise to the people, that they can still find heaven. "See this empty hole inside" - There was a stake driven into his side as well. "Breathe you in, and it's all over now, with my arms open" - Jesus died on a cross, with his arms- you guessed it- spread wide. Since blessthefall are all Catholics and religious, I think this is very plausible. |

These lyrics are really wrong, by the way. Trough sin and self destruction I stumble home, never alone My only home is the bottom of the bottle and a rolled up bill and I'm ready to go I live the same day in and out and I don't care how long I last All the girls and drink and drugs but don't get me wrong I'm having a fucking blast I am rock and roll, livin' the life you can only dream of I am rock and roll at it's fucking finest Just like the cigarettes hurt Just like the whiskey burns (Wohoa wohoa) I guess I'm never gonna learn (x2) Not gonna stop until my heart stops beating Not gonna stop until my last breathe comes I'm gonna go until I hit the floor And can't find my way back to my feet anymore Pass me a glass and let's destroy everything in this fucking place Life at 300 miles an hour, you pussies can't keep up with this fucking pace I am rock and roll, living a life we can only dream of I am rock and roll at its fucking finest Just like the cigarettes hurt Just like the whiskey burns (Wohoa wohoa) I guess I'm never gonna learn (x2) I've spent the last two years tearing apart my soul I'll put the next two in to kick-start the good old days of rock and roll Without remorse, without regret, without a second thought You it the nail on the head with the back of your fucking throat I am rock and roll livin' the life you can only dream of I am rock and roll at it's fucking finest These corrections come straight from the CD booklet. |
