Lacuna Coil – Trip The Darkness Lyrics 13 years ago
To me, this song is about a person who loves the effects of LSD but hates being addicted to it. This person regularly gets high on the substance (i.e. tripping the darkness) to avoid the pressures of life, but then always cuts himself short for fear of what might happen if he stays too long on the substance (i.e. awakening from madness just in time).
Thus, the first and second stanzas describe this person being weary of life, and the chorus describes how the person is tempted into taking hallucinogens by his addiction, only to realize what he's doing and stop himself.

Puscifer – Telling Ghosts Lyrics 13 years ago
To me, this song is about all the stupid reasons that people start wars and all the lives wasted because of that. The "telling ghosts" are people who gave their lives to war but realized that it was all pointless when they died. All those greedy, ignorant, gluttonous people are the leaders of countries who seek to take the resources of others.
I think the phrase "there's no money in peace" rings true here.

Three Days Grace – Get Out Alive Lyrics 14 years ago
This song to me, it pretty much means that you should be yourself. You need to live your own life and you need to live it the way that you want to. You can't be afraid of consequences otherwise you'll only hurt yourself. And if you put your life in someone else's hands, you'll never be happy, because it's not your life if you're not the one living it.

A Perfect Circle – Weak And Powerless Lyrics 14 years ago
I agree; that's totally what it's about. When he says "jam another dragon down the hole", he's talking about taking drugs, with the drugs being the enemy - "If a man wishes to become a hero, then the serpent must first become a dragon; otherwise he lacks his proper enemy" (Friedrich Nietzsche).
I also think the diction here is amazingly deep: for example, when he mentions Dracula, the name is used as a metaphor for dependence because Dracula is dependent on blood (which is as unsavory as a drug if you think about it). The speaker is expressing just how great his desire for drugs is.
