| Kele Okereke – Unholy Thoughts Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I don't think its about drugs in particular but more generally about the lifestyle he found himself living. Maybe he has allowed himself become part of a party and drug filled lifestyle that comes with being a musician and that he is stopping to reflect on where he is in life at the moment and deciding that he needs a change | |
| Bloc Party – Like Eating Glass Lyrics | 14 years ago |

This has been my favourite song for about three years now, although justboy by biffy clyro may have overtaken it. Bloc Party in general have excellent lyrics i think. I think this song in particular is about a young family who perhaps rushed into a marriage and now feel that work commitments and perhaos the pressure of having to support one another are tearing them apart. Its so cold in this house is a reference to a frosty cynical sarcastic atmosphere, open mouths swallowing us indicates to me that they feel out of their depth and the children staying home at school will not stop crying shows that even their young kids are picking up on the parents negative attitudes toward each other and instinctively know somethings not right. I know that your busy too i know that you care shows how they dont see as much of each other as they used to. You got your finger on the pulse got your eyes everywhere is a reference to freyed temper and suspicion and possibley one of them having a partner outside of the marriage. Then i think like drinking poison and eating glass are the two sharpest similes he could think of that manage to convey their pain very well. I think the "weve got crosses..." manages to convey the dazed sense in which they find themselves really well. Thats just what i think |

| Paul Simon – The Boy in the Bubble Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I think the song is an appeal for peace in which Paul Simon talks about how technology is advancing at an incredible rate but so much of it is being used for destruction instead of looking for ways to combat illness disease and poverty, i think "lasers in the jungle somewhere" is a reference to war as is "stacatto signals of constant information" (codes used by military personelle) and "a loose affiliation with millionaires and billionaires" of course he also mentions a bomb being wired to a radio and links that with a baby carriage creating the image of murder of children which is designed to shock the listener i think, he seems cynacle and almost sarcastic. Of course i could be way off i wasnt even born when the album was released but thats how i see it. | |
