I love this, I feel like it's a revenge song. The "Murderer"/"arsonist" seems like a classic femme fatale figure and the chorus is just about wanting her to suffer because of what she put him through. I love Brian's lyrics the imagery in this song is superb. :) |

I'm not really sure exactly what this song is about but the way I've interpreted it, it's about betrayal, the bits about doubting friends and "Black Betty" doing the "very thing" that he asked her not to do etc... I kind of interpretted the "silk spiderweb" as a more eloquent way of saying "web of lies". I don't know I'm just bullshitting, but yeah it's such a good song. I wish I could personally ask Brian to explain every song he's written to me. |
