This is just my take on it. I think the song is just a metaphor for different situations he had to go through in high school. "You're black I'm white he's purple but I still don't understand." Perhaps simply regarding racism "I'm going to be alright I'm going to be okay everything is going to be fine back off. I want to be alone I want to think it out and I'm thinking that I want to go home." I think its safe to say we've all had a day where we ran something similar to this through our heads in school. You had a bad day and your telling yourself it'll be better, and all you want is for everyone to back off and leave you alone "3 years, 2 months, 1 week, 4 days I'm always counting down because there ain't no easier way trust me you know that I tried and if I said it was easy then you know that I told a lie." Maybe the amount of time he had left in school when he wrote it, or maybe just a metaphor for saying "I'm gonna be here for awhile" That's how I see it. |

Maybe its about fitting into high school.. The look in his eye said "Brother what are you going to do with a 9mm and a three piece suit?" they look to one another and say "hey motherfucker, who's the fool?" I think that's saying that sticks out among the rest of his peers like a man with a pistol and a suit sticks out among bank robbers. Maybe. |

I see it as society's need to find someone to blame for all of out faults. "All the time we're spending vaccinating this disease I just get dizzy when I think of all the ways we try to hide our maladies" Instead of fixing the problem, we spend too much blaming others for out own problems. Also, You're "Giveittomegiveittomegiveittomegiveittome, all those things we need" Perhaps referring to greed? Just my thoughts. This is an Amazing song!! |

| I think its about a man who ran away from a former life he had in his old country, and met a woman in Cuba whom he fell in love with and married. He felt he could run away from his problems he created in his old country, but they continue to follow him, and now begs forgiveness. Just my thought, but Streetlight did an AMAZING job on this song as usual! | |
