I think this song is kind of sick...
If someone is seriously wishing these kind of things, it's not love, it's obsession and he/she kind of needs a therapist.

Xavier Naidoo – Bevor Du Gehst Lyrics 14 years ago
Oh, "she" could also stand for the catholic church after all, which is also often referred to as "Babylon". A lot of people in history saw the catholic church as a kind of whore, who sells itself out to gain profit. And this should lead to an unhappy end, a kind of doom, in some way.

Sorry, but I don't think you are right.

In the second verse, he refers to a "she" and "her glory". And this "person" really seems to disappoint the people who believed in her, because of her doings.

If you read this interview, you get that Xavier might sings about the fall of Babylon. That it pretty clear from the interview.

The question is, what exctly is meant with Babylon? The old city, which perished after a time of glory and fame? There also is a tale in the Bible about a woman called Babylon, who represented all the religions of the world. She is riding on a wild animal. In the next chapter, she goes down and dies. There are interpretations of that, as that the religions were selling themselves to the kings to gain advantages, which would be like prostitution. When Babylon dies, it's because of this, the selling out of "her" values. And the people who "believed" in her because they could gain advantages as well, so the rich people and the bargainers, are desperate because they loose great amounts of money. That would fit perfectly to the text!

Babylon could also stand for the organisation of life, with all the worries about money and things, whoch are so important to us, although they are of no "real" (like spiritual) value and how such a life can go in the wrong direction. Or for the capitalism after all...

But the text doesn't fit the Jesus-theme, if you read it more carefully.
