I think you will have to explain Zim Pelvis. I'm not saying I disagree, but the I have no idea what the song means, nor what you seem to be talking about.

Bob Marley and the Wailers – Hallelujah Lyrics 14 years ago
Okay, so how come there's no comments on this song. It needs more recognition. Hallelujah time and Soul Captives are arguably the two most underrated marley songs out there (not to mention the gems of their really early work). The Wailer's music is clouded by their mainstream songs. I challenge the common marley fan to name 8 songs by him or even the name of an album or two. One of the things that makes the Wailers so legendary is the huge AMOUNT of great music they created, not just a handful of songs. That's what puts them up there with The Beatles and Led Zep, who also never stopped the steady flow of PURE GENIUS.

Anyway I came to songmeanings.com to find the meaning to this song. I like hearing other peoples opinions and ideas more than I like thinking about my own haha. Here goes mine, though, since I'm the first to comment: Umm, I'm incredibly simple-minded and uncreative about this stuff, but I'm thinking they had a hard winter and are very happy that spring has come, but now they must work even harder to harvest the crops because of a dry spell. But if they "bear their burdens now," all their afflictions will end somehow. Hard work pays off.

How's that for my first interpretation ever?

And also, if you are a fan of reggae, ska, etc. CHECK THIS GUY OUT: The Scientist (Hopeton Brown), pioneer of the Dub genre (GTA3 for the win. I congratulate anyone who got that reference). He is one of the most underrated musicians I've ever come across, and music has been my life since I first discovered Led Zep when I was 4 :) The Scientist was a minor player in the Jamaican scene, so he hardly got any recognition at all, although he's a world famous recording engineer. Anyway, check out these two albums: "Kingdom of Dub" and "The Scientist Rids the World of the Evil Curse of the Vampires". I know, the latter has a crazy name, and its song titles are just as crazy, but the music is some of the best I've come across in a long while. Give it a few listens. I hope you like it.

Sum 41 – Heart Attack Lyrics 14 years ago
So other people do feel the same as I do! I'm always under the impression that everyone else is out having fun all the time :/
I love looking at these song meanings forums. Sometimes I like hearing about other people's problems, it makes mine seem normal. I'm not terribly sentimental or depressing, but I occasionally gotta listen to this type of music.
(I usually listen to pretty lightweight stuff: Primus, sublime, marley, scientist, reggae, rap...fuck, I'll even hit classical every once in awhile)

I accidentally flagged you instead of replying (I do that sometimes), but you're a winner dude. I was starting to see what all the people above you were saying, but then I saw this and said, "Here we go, this guy know's his shit." Sometimes things are as simple as they first seem.

I enjoy looking at people's interpretations of the music I listen to on this site, and I've been through A LOT of em. I'm impressed. Not a SINGLE person bitched someone out cause they didn't like their opinion. Y'all get props. There's almost always that one douche in every forum. Glad there's not one here, cause I really connect to this one. I personally think it's what bjk214 said :P. It's about a girl he can't get. She's his satellite. He moves, she moves as well- always keeps the same distance (i.e. unattainable). She's perfect in his eyes. In my experience, they're not!

yeah man it aint that bad. I can understand your point of view, although I like the song, SOAD has written worse. (I wouldn't use "worse" cuz I like the song, I'm just trying to say it from your point of view).

Ummm BrysN, who told you the Bible was the most historically correct book in existence? I was reading the replies and was surprised no one shot that down. Really? Do I have to explain this? There isn't a SINGLE book thats more historically correct out there? ....I think many. I don't believe the Bible should be interpreted literally, nor would it be historically correct if it was. Considering what I just said, historical books are NOT supposed to be interpreted if they were to be considered factual (don't get me wrong, interpreting historical texts is important, too, it just doesn't constitute as FACT if it's interpreted). Historical books are supposed to be HISTORICAL (i.e. factual). I don't think the Bible lives up to the reputation of factuality you gave it. Were you watching the History Channel again? (The History Channel is a business, hence Monster Quest and Ancient Aliens.... they want money, so they'll put whatever can't be DISPROVEN on there to entertain us. It doesn't work on me.) Just a guess as to where you got that information, no assumptions here. WHO WATCHES SOUTHPARK??? THE FIRST THANKSGIVING WAS VISITED BY ALIENS FTW!!!!

Terricotta, what you just said doesn't really make sense. ChristAlphaOmega's words, I felt, were hinting at intolerance and kinda challenging. It read aggressively towards anyone with a different point of view towards god and the afterlife. I guess you could say I'm agnostic, and I don't know. So I'm kind of offended when anyone says they KNOW, and declares their right in the way ChristAlphaOmega did. Interpretations of songs or anything else is a place for opinions, and opinions are NOT facts. Inhib was not shooting down his beliefs, he was shooting down his ARGUMENTS. (how he presented his beliefs) Inhib was getting at the fact that NOBODY knows everything, not that he himself knew everything. I guess one could say your interpretations are of inhib's words are wrong, but that's an opinion now, isn't it?

Primus – Jerry Was a Race Car Driver Lyrics 14 years ago
Look, if you wanna compare bassists you must understand that none of you seem to be talking about the same thing! Are you talking about skill and difficulty or are you talking about musicianship? (i.e. what primantsob said about music theory and such. Like who makes the best music, who's the most clever.) You're not gonna get anywhere unless you understand they are two totally different things. What Les does requires PURE SKILL. That is where he trumps everyone else in my opinion. He plays a fretless 6-string bass. He slaps 32nd notes for a minute straight. He sings on top of all these things... and he's got some nice moves to top it off ;) The difficulty of his music overall and what he does is, to me, on a whole nother level than all others I've heard. Now as to who's a better bassist... I don't know. I can't say. I think James Jamerson's pretty sick, as is Flea. I've heard great things about Entwhistle, and I'm not that knowledgable on some of the other guys mentioned. So I guess that might make my argument void, but they'd have to be PRETTY FUCKING AMAZING to perform music of greater DIFFICULTY than Les.
