Aesop Rock – Catacomb Kids Lyrics 14 years ago
I bought the instrumental/accapella "None Shall Pass" album on iTunes. It came with the lyrics to all the songs on the album, so I would recommend getting that to see what Aes was actually writing instead of solely relying on people online.

Aesop Rock – Catacomb Kids Lyrics 14 years ago
As with any Aesop song, the general meaning can be found in the chorus. The beautiful thing about his songs, however, is that there is not a set meaning that is supposed to resonate with every single fan. It's supposed to be interpreted individually.

With that being said, I believe that it's interesting that he uses the term "Catacomb Kids" to describe being a kid in brooklyn. I would like to think he's talking about all kids who feel like they're out on their own trying to enjoy childhood. Catacomb is a reference to underground tunnels, more specifically underground mazes, as if to say "We are the underground kids."

Also that Ricky Kasso line gets me every time. If you do not know who that is then look him up. Very creepy but Aes makes it almost silly.
