i think that maybe in the first line "Rip the earth in two with your mind..." maybe he's talking about his relationship with someone and they fight a lot. and this other person assumes a lot of things. or thinks too much. makes up situations in their head. "how can you say your truth is better than ours..." it sounds like this person always thinks they're right. and wont give what he has to say a chance. "if only i had an enemy bigger than my apathy i could have won." and "i never meant you any harm..." kind of go hand in hand to me. because the fact that he doesn't show that he cares as much as this other person wants him to obviously hurts them and he didn't mean for it to hurt them but he didn't do anything about it. and if he would have, he could have won. but he didn't. and in these amazing lines "But you rip it from my hands And you swear it's all gone And you rip out all I have Just to say that you've won" i think that this other person finally got fed up with his apathy and blew it out of proportion just so they could come out on top. which really hurt him. because he never meant them any harm. and with "well now you've won" he gives up... hmmm. |
