| No I don't think this is silly. I think if you watch the video it confirms this. Regina's playing on a typewriter that isn't a typewriter like it's a piano. Talk about having something consistent taken away from you. I think eet is just a word to describe that. | |
| Owl City – Hospital Flowers Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Owl City is great, as is this song. I'll start this by saying I'm not a very religious person. I've sort of developed my own beliefs, mixed from all sorts of different backgrounds and I love that Adam has left this song sort of open ended because it means I can apply it to myself personally as well. When I first realized it was religious it was a little weird for me honestly, but then I realized that he's not pushing anything on anyone. I think this song has sort of pushed me to find something that could let me live without being afraid and I think it's good to have that, whatever it is. My version of God might not match anyone else's but it doesn't matter because that's not how it needs to be. I'm not sure if this is how he intended it, but it's good to find the kind of strength and faith that he's found by the end of this song whatever that is for you, be it God, or just love, or optimism, or your family. As I said, I'm not religious, but it is nice sometimes to be around a religious group of people because they have something that won't be moved no matter what and it makes them happy. Beautiful song. |

| Regina Spektor – Ghost of Corporate Future Lyrics | 14 years ago |

BacaChaca I really like your answer. Very deep. I think this might be sort of addition to your answer. She's saying that this guy is running through life worried about getting his suit wet and not living with his family the way he should and that whatever the ghost of corporate future is has sort of inspired him to let some of that attitude go. Take off your shoes once in a while. Stop and stand in the rain in an expensive suit. Don't be people shouldn't make you nervous. They're people too. Living breathing people with real emotions and real problems just like you. Maybe expanding even on the song here but, look past their stoic corporate faces and think of them as people instead of machines. Carpe diem. "Maybe you should kiss someone nice, or lick a rock, or both." |
