| Modest Mouse – Edit the Sad Parts Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| This to me is about my older brother who recently passed.. the lyrics seem to switch from him(my brother) and me narrating.. The biggest line from this song that hits home is "I made my shoe shine with my coal, but the polish didn't shine the hole" I'll never replace my brothers hole. No matter how much I prep and shine myself.. theres always going to be a piece of me missing.. | |

| I'm pretty sure it is "I don't want to believe HER, I want to believe you" | |

| Ben has been notoriously shallow when it comes to his choice of women. He explains this vividly in "Tiny Vessels". I think this song is a reflection of himself intertwined with the "stupid" women he choses. I think he feels like he is captive to the women that fall prey to him. I could be wrong, but I totally relate to this.. | |

This song in my mind is definitely about a stripper. "Your prettiness is seeping through Out from the dress I took from you, so pretty" -since she is a stripper he "took her dress" by paying her to take off her clothes "And my emptiness is swollen shut Always a wretch i have become So empty and please please don't leave me" - usually how people feel when the go to strip clubs "I'm watching Naomi, full bloom" - shes nude (cuz shes a stripper) "I'm hoping she will soon explode Into one billion tastes and tunes" - Metephor for what he expects sex with her to be like "I'm tasting Naomi's perfume It tastes like shit and I must say" - he is getting a lap dance or private dance "She comes and goes most afternoons One billion lovers wave and love her now They could love her now and so could I" - she has a fanbase at the strip club. I also see that it could be about him stalking a famous person. but i like the strip club idea better. He is lonely and wants love and attatches himself to a stripper Read more at http://www.songmeanings.net/songs/view/36483/# |
