I'd say this is about Guantanemo Bay and the deprivation of liberty and loss of civil rights and freedoms that resulted from the response to 9/11 and other such events. Specifically, being that The Herd are Australian, this might be for David Hicks, who was one of the many innocent people taken to G'Bay in what was and sadly still is a shining example of how pretty much all Governments are as bad as each other. I mean it could be literally about the old days when England sent convicts to Australia but I think its more relevant to today. |
