This is not a well known song of Brother Ali's, but it is my favorite and in my opinion his best. That last verse gets me every time! He's talking about how music should have substance, meanging, and most of all value. It should benefit the listener in any way possible, not help them feed into a negative culture or vice. This sums up what I took from this awesome song: "If I sell drugs, or die, or go to jail, or go to hell either way If you keepin' it real how come there's no truth to what you say? Remember this, we make rap stars rich and company's even richer I aim for your brain until you get the picture" |

This is a great song. IMO Brother Ali means to convey the importance of inner beauty and confidence instead of being shallow or concerned with looks. Brother Ali has albinism, more commonly know as being albino. He's not a very attractive dude stereotypically speaking, so this song is about how he still loves himself for who he is, not what he looks like. "To everyone out there, who's a little different, I say, damn a magazine, these is God's fingerprints. You can call me ugly but can't take nothing from me. I am what I am, doctor, you ain't gotta love me." great stuff |

| Wouldn't the line "Please tell mom this is not her fault" suggest that the author believes that his/her parents did their job? On the other hand I suppose that line could have been added because the author did not want to make the parents feel bad. | |
