To me, this song is about depression or feeling trapped in a dark place in your mind, the opening line "How can you see into my eyes like open doors?" Suggests that she has felt this way for a long time, but someone comes along who can really see that she is unhappy. Even though she is used to bottling it all up, and no one noticing. The rest of the song then seems to be about her trying to get a hold of herself again and 'bring herself to life' (out of the depression.) It's almost as though the one person noticing her sadness has sparked her determination to save herself and break free. This is just my personal interpretation, amazing song. |

I think it's about being tired of the pressures of the media, and stress caused by lots of things. The power and aggressivness of the song suggests that it's a feeling that's been bottled up for a long time, but she's had enough and lets it out in this song. The line "Taken all that you wanted/ Now there's nothing that can change the way I feel" suggests that she's put up with it for a long time, but isn't gonna take it any more. This is supported by the explosion of the powerful, cathartic chorus - Great song! :) |

| I hadn't thought of it like that, but it definitely makes sense. As in 'Like you' she makes references to being with her sister again - such lines as - "Blinding wall between us. Melt away and leave us alone again." and "There's room inside for two and I'm not grieving for you, I'm coming for you." The metaphors about being reunited seem to come from the same feeling in both songs, eg. she feels her sister is on the other side of the "blinding wall" between them. Perhaps I didn't pick up on this at first because 'hello' and 'like you' were very slow and melancholy, where as this one is very fast paced and confident. One of my favourites of the new album!! :) | |
