She is explaining how her love life is like the rhythm of the night in that her lover comes and goes over and over. It could equally be the rhythm of the day however she is not happy about it and it is a dark topic. It is her fault. It is no way a happy song! ( Much like nearly all 90s dance tracks ) Put some joy upon my face - sunshine in an empty place. (Make me smile I feel empty inside.) take me to turn to and babe ill make you stay. (Find comfort in me and ill will do as you wish because i'm desperate) She can ease him of his pain, so long as she feels his love again. (this has happened before) round and round we go each time i hear you say..... you know it. wont you teach me how to love and learn... (in other words learn to love and and be loved in return - for always not just a cycle) Nothin left for me to yearn (she will have everything she wants) think of me and burn, and let me hold your hand. but when he thinks of her his blood boils and he just wants to be friends. But she cant stand to face the world in tears. She gets on her knees and pleads with him to let her in again. Regardless of the outcome she knows to be inevitable she wants him to show her the rhythm of the night - again. She knows this will hurt him and this will ultimately hurt her, but she has decided to accept this is her life. She knows this will hurt him more as he is still alive inside so she begs him not to feel bad about this one more time. This is the rhythm of her life. oh yeah.... |
