| Kele Okereke – Tenderoni Lyrics | 13 years ago |

I watched his live performance on BBC, and after the first chorus he speaks the phase clearly over and over again "You were built for greatness" I always have heard it: so did you know, You're more than this? and you were built for greatness. I don't own the physical CD, so I'm not sure what the insert (if any) says. notice though, that in almost all CD inserts it says "Lyrics reproduced with permission". sometimes what will happen is that some labels will send someone to listen to the album over and over again to type out the lyrics according to what it sounds like. if it's not proof read correctly, you find mistakes to even full verses or choruses. I'm not sure if this is what happened, but it's more common then one would think. |

I thought he kept saying "Never get noticed, never get judged." It seemed to make sense, but I'll take your word for it. I don't own a physical copy so I don't know if there's a lyric sheet or not, so I'm not gonna argue it. It's a great song anyway, my favorite on KOL. |

| Grand Archives – Oslo Novelist Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
It seems like it's about a writer who pours every fiber of his/her being into telling a good story. I get that from "the ribbons are dry". almost like he ran out of ink working on this. and also "Sun down fell" (Sleepless nights maybe?) it also seems like a struggle too with the line : "I can't decide how to make this end any other way" almost like a writer not trying to be too obvious in his storytelling. I don't think Oslo has any special meaning though. it just seems to fit artistically to me. Not sure what "Come tomorrow, and this will all be gone" means. but still, a great song all and all, a good video too. |

| Depeche Mode – Never Let Me Down Again Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
To me it's always meant alcoholism. and how one might become dependent on it, and begin to trust it like a true friend. but the term "I, hope he never lets me down AGAIN" implies it hasn't worked out before. (It never does) It could be applied to drugs as well, but that wasn't my first thought. the song also talks about control a lot, which seemed to be a theme to a lot of Martin's work when referencing addiction later on when Dave started having his problems. I know this has been said probably 100 times before, but I got sick of people saying it was about a gay relationship or something shallow like that to write about. |
