"Sensations, curse me and my ways Force-feed me blind on empty days" -The person wants to not attend to real world things. -He instead wants to drown his problems by seeking distractions (drugs, alcohol, religion itself etc) "Today, my faith was lost again A grave was dug to mourn its loss" -He loses faith in the real world "And in this grave I keep my friends" -Hes pushing away support, willing to escape his problems "Loneliness, impure urges And the pain that only I can bring" -Hes built a solitude world for himself in order to reach his 'deity' "A mouthful of dust and guilt A season of haste and wilt" -Hes guilty of leaving his problems (or whatever), but desperate to eliminate them "And to this day I'll search for you To nurse and clean My mouthful of dust and guilt" -His deity can only deny real problems "Come forever Come blindness Come bringing forth The pain of logic and reason That hides in here" -He wishes to see the reality again by accepting the truth "And for my dreams I'll pay dearly Forfeit my rights to see clearly" -By depriving his religion, he will be able to tend to the real world again "Your flaws, my flaws In all of our ways" -He realizes the real world and himself are irrational beings, religion and reason dont seem to make sense By that I assume the song was directed mainly towards escapism (drugs, religion, solitude) and then trying to deal with the world again and fall back into old habits. So maybe addiction? Keshik seems to have it right but this song could apply to anything i spose. its a good song. |
