This song has a deep meaning to me. When she says "yellow diamonds in the light." I believe this represents happiness. The first verse she basically is saying how they are perfect for each other. Than when she say's "its a feeling I have I just can't deny, but I've got to let it go." In the video, it shows how much partying they do and how much wild they are. That's where the term "hopeless place" She realizes that this love can go no further because it is too much in her life. She wants to be right and makes the decision of walking away.
