It's a lot more than just drugs. I think it might have something to do with his love going to a mental hospital or rehab of some sort (weither or, she's sent away in a place). He said she's on her own now and he'll see her tomorrow same time and same place. Usually in places like in a hospital or rehab they have scheduled meetings for the people staying there to see their loved ones. The song states "She's gone away for good, at least that's what they said." Obviously "they" are the workers that help her in the place she's staying. People usually tend to lose weight because of drugs or sickness: " love the way you shake but you've lost a little weight" and such and such and such. But that's basically the main summary of the song in my opinion. |

What I got from the song is that he and his friend (girlfriend or not never the less still someone he cares about deeply)and they've been through some deep shit together (drugs, death, violence, anything) that have made them go almost over the edge (suicide) like he said, "But I will hold on hope And I won't let you choke On the noose around your neck" But now he wants to change his ways. He wants to live life and be happy again. Coming out of the cave could be coming out of his darkness/ his dark days: "And I'll find strength in pain And I will change my ways I'll know my name as it's called again" And his own demons are the sirens calling his name. I remember reading Odysseus a few years ago and the story of the Sirens. I forgot if it was if whoever heard the Siren's cry they'd meet instant death or they were tempted into their lair and then killed anyway in this song he talked about the Siren's calls, and I think the calls were suppost to be the temptations he feels from what his dark days used to be consumed of, but no matter what he won't give in. "So make your siren's call And sing all you want I will not hear what you have to say" So basically it's just about leaving behind his dark past and starting anew. |
