clearly at least about waging war using superior technology and justifying the slaughter with self-righteous patriotic religious nonsense. The drone references are pretty solid. Could hardly be clearer. |

also I'm fairly certain it's "orbital space" not "orbit and space," and at the end it's "if nobody changed then it must have been my.... mind" the last word is just hard to make out cause comes after a pause and is low and distorted. |

I think first-drug-experience idea is in the right ballpark, but attributing it to painkillers as a result of injury is taking the story too literally. The flight itself seems to me an allegory of one's first trip... being shot into "orbital space," briefly seeing everything from a radically different/elevated perspective, then returning to a world which appears to be the same one you left but which now feels inexplicably different. An impact which doesn't hurt but leaves a lasting change in one's model of reality. Have you tasted of a higher state of consciousness and returned to see so clearly the irrationality with which most humans conduct themselves, OR were you driven mad by the experience and now judge the sane actions of others by your newly insane perspective? Objectivity vs subjectivity... that is the quintessential psychonaut conundrum. |
