| Neneh Cherry – 7 Seconds Lyrics | 6 years ago |
|
7 seconds refers to the amount of time it takes for a human being, meeting another human for the first time, to form an opinion—or, in the context of the song, a prejudice, based upon a superficial quality (e.g. color of skin). |

lyrics are wrong. this is a song about (among other things) alejandro's association with the nyc punk scene and when sid vicious' girlfriend (nancy s.) died. it's not "baptist kansas city". it's max's kansas city. it's not "come and help us sit" (?wtf?!), it's come and help with sid. it's not "they found us in our black underwear"....they found nancy in her black underwear, dead on the bathroom floor. sheesh |

| Ian Hunter – I Wish I Was Your Mother Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| am also surprised to see no comments on this great Mott song. Ian Hunter was one of the great ones of the 70's. Look also for Alejandro Escovedo's incredibly moving version of this tune. Ian Hunter summed up in a few stanzas the narrator's childhood hell and the sociopath it created as an adult, capped by the line..."is there a happy ending? i don't think so". | |
