no offence bro but your analysations of the crown as a symbol of responsibility are 'somewhat wrong'. crown is most likely money. they comment on consumerist/capitalist society and the false importance of money. e.g. sick of people obsessing over it (concrete gold) and 'suits' on animals (free humans). In this song, he explicitly tells of a story where a brother is in jail. when his dad can't afford his bail, they 'put a crowny on his head and murdered him'. by 'putting a crown on his head' they are basically talking about putting a monetary value on someones life. more true in the U.S. than the UK, this is dealing with the bailing system where if you don't have the money, you must give your life in jail. |
