I believe it is that powerful, esp that close to home for him, and would have died rather than the band breaking up...or what Emma wanted hm to think perhaps...? Is that completely crazy?? |

Seems pretty blatantly about drugs/addiction.i guess is open to interpretation for ones preferred “drug of choice” inc religeon....but my guess is is written quite literally about drug addiction. |

@[Acrobatc101:29116] So many of us have that one person, that we couldn’t be with, for whatever reason, whom we have been in love with, sometimes for our entire adult lives. And there is a day when you realize that, and the regret is overwhelming. You may even love others during this time, and maybe realize that every day of your life you have missed out on your true love. This is the kind of depression that would cause us to want to check out on drugs, inspire incredible profound music about this love, possibly the whole time not even realizing your true heart lies elsewhere. Imagine this pain. I have experienced this, and I would put money that this is what happened to Chris. It is the saddest thing in an otherwise amazing livelihood that can happen. I’m convinced this was Chris’ legacy, and the reason for his demise. I think this song is a more direct cry out for her. I sense this from other lyrics written by him, almost seems to kind of hide them a bit, even if that is subconscious. It is deep, complicated, and tragic. Love is a mother fuker....but the lesson perhaps is to make sure all who you truly love in life, absolutely know it. |

I'm a 50 y/o man. When I was 19, my gf was slightly younger, got pregnant. We prepared for a baby, and 4 months into the pregnancy, she decided to have a late term abortion. This song is about the consequence of dealing with that. , haunts me. I don't care what your feelings about the abortion issue. But I will say, I don't think anyone truly can ever wash that away, such as the song implies. |

This I believe was composed by Rod Terperton, who's works include many hits for many different bands and artists including I believe Michael Jackson, and actually, more importantly, his own hit band, Heatwave. RIP Johnny Wilder, original singer of Ted's masterpiece-This song for me, by Heatwave, has been with me my entire life, without losing it's magic. To me, this symbolizes a mans struggle with a break up with a woman that he still loves. Really doesn't have anything to do with a lineman. It is perfect really. He can't let go of her. He tries to move on,but always with distractions, but he still heres her calling, (in the wire)..He is still on the line..not over her. |
