Anathema – Parisienne Moonlight Lyrics 12 years ago
Makes me think of couples when one person has a mental illness and can't win with it, not enough to be a real loving partner, and despite mutual love the only solution is a healthy breakup. But it can be about any couple with similar scenario, when the pain is destroying the ability to love, and nobody is really guilty.

The Cure – M Lyrics 13 years ago
It's a very random thought, but I see a connection between love and drawings. Every time I fall in love, I try to draw his face. And every time I draw, I fall more in love with whoever I've drawn, because it makes me realize all the facial lines, and how all the imperfections make the person perfect. So when Robert sings "hello image" and "your face is drawn, ready for the next attack", I think about this my way: I imagine a guy who's in love, but the girl somehow slips away for some blurry reason (like "I'm not ready for a relationship" or "it's not working out due to my issues"), but she belongs to him on the picture.

Anoushka Shankar – Easy Lyrics 13 years ago
I completely don't know what was the idea behind this song, but when I read the lyrics, I thought about my life. When I was a teenager I loved someone, and this love, it consumed me completely. I lived in a fairytale. It was pure and painful. Now I love, too, but I have doubts, I want to give someone what I used to be able to give, but I'm just hitting a wall, I can't get through to my heart. It feels cold and I wish I could be this girl again, with her heart red and beating.

So when I read this lyrics, I think about growing up, becoming realistic and losing the part of ourself that can open us to this pure, carefree, young-hearted love.

Siouxsie and the Banshees – Israel Lyrics 14 years ago
Funny cause I never think about Israel when I listen to this. For me it's the emotional attitude that strikes me in the lyrics. Especially the parts "Waiting for a sign to turn blood into wine",
"Now hidden in disguise / cheap wrapping of lies / keep your hearts alive / with a song from inside" and
"Even though we're all alone, we are never on our own when we're singing".
So I don't feel that it's about the people of Israel, I think that all people everywhere can associate themselves with this attitude. Especially when the winter is coming and everything is so dark and gloomy, people are depressed and isolated from each other, but we have to find some joy in our hearts to glow around. And we have to preserve this joy in our lives when it's really hard, because it can always get better.

Deathstars – Motherzone Lyrics 14 years ago
It's the first Deathstars' lyrics I've read since I thought their lyrics are the usual crappy metal stuff. But actually, the theme in the lyrics is very close to my personal beliefs. I've always believed in destiny, that it's a blessing and a curse. I believe in some force that protects us and sometimes, the same something, deep in our hearts, pulls us down into misery. It's the truth about who we are and we can't run from it. For me, it's the yearning to do something beautiful and meaningful that turns into envy or even hatred towards people who are better at the stuff I love. Or when I care about something so much that I end up broken and crying. It's a part of us that is the core of our identity and our tragic flaw at the same time, and we can't get rid of it, the same way we can't get rid of the death sentence we got the day we were born. It's out destiny. I don't think Deathstars' lyrics was supposed to have this message, but maybe someone will find my comment interesting or inspiring.
