| @[Derf:53354] "a band that is really known for one song" I guess you are either around 20 or living in a non European country... As for the interpretation, seems pretty fair... | |

Dr Robert and The Blow Monkeys head for Carlisle 20th April 2019 BY MARK GREEN "It Doesn't Have To Be This Way came a year later - picking out how divisive then Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher's policies were. It came from their anti-government album She Was Only A Grocer's Daughter which also produced the single Celebrate (The Day After You) which was banned by the BBC as it coincided with the general election that year." https://www.newsandstar.co.uk/news/17569438.dr-robert-blow-monkeys-head-carlisle/ |

| Mike And The Mechanics – Another Cup Of Coffee Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
This one deals with several matters concerning couples but more specific, it's about 1) A man who got involved with a girl he didn't actually love and married her -probably soon after- because it seemed the "proper" thing to do, at that time. After several years he felt trapped in his everyday life and when he realised that people in his invironment (wife, family, friends & colleagues) couldn't understand his needs, he tried to change his life by going away, leaving just empty spaces in the life of a woman that still loved him... Sign: probably Aquarius 2) A woman who really loved this man and devoted her life to him without -unfortunately- asking something in return (not even to be loved by him). She didn't realise that he didn't love her back. She was also probably responsible for the loss of the erotic flame in their relationship (he was probably her first lover or she was mistreated by her former lover). She let her housewife routine lead her into misery and self pity... but he never did something to reverse this situation. She was once probably "excellent" material for "The Love Of Her Life" but it wasn't him. She has actually herself to blame for believing his lies and not seing through him. Sign: probably Cancer or Pisces Though the songs ending goes from sad memories to hope, I would rather say: What a waste of time, what a waste of Life! PS This song could actually be a sequel of the 1979 song "The Worker" by "Fisher-Z" |

| Prefab Sprout – I Remember That Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| It's the most soulful & at the same time the most jazzy of the known Sprout songs... and as I usually point out to my daughter "The quality of our life depends on the quality of memories that we create via choices & actions in our everyday life" but also important -as thedanster already pointed out- sharing those memories with other people (in time or place, loved ones or completetly strangers) and building sentimental bonds of a unique spiritual status among us. | |
