Oroborous is exactly right. In an interview, Dez said how this song is actually about western films, and how you need an unorthodox badass like Clynt Eastwood (his favorite) to save the day. |

This is one of my favorite DevilDriver songs. In an interview done before Beast was released. Dez talked about hypocrites, and how you can't wait to call them out on their bullshit and have them "dead to rights". I feel this is loosely an overarching theme of the entire album. These hypocrites and just in general bad people, are Beasts among us. They Hardened, Coldblooded, Make us Sick, never Blame themselves. They're on our Shitlist, and when the time comes, we'll have them Dead to Rights and Bring the Fight to the Floor. |
