| The White Stripes – Candy Cane Children Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Maybe they're referring to themselves in the same way they refer to the fans to make a point. Like, they're one of us, and no one "knows how to talk to" us, but they (Jack and Meg) do, and we're all kind of a family, brought together by this music. | |

For me, this song strikes me as at least a bit about love. "Let's dig...a little grave we can fill together" "I'm gonna take you for worse or better to my little grave" It's alluding to marriage vows, of course. I think it's saying the same thing-- "Until death do us part." Committing yourself to another person for life. It seems to me like it's a twisted, dark relationship, but that can either be bad (say, a failing girlfriend/boyfriend relationship) or just something that's not the traditional relationship (say, a relationship with rock n roll. Or just a really cool couple.) Either way, I love this song! This whole band is lovely. |

| Jet – Timothy Lyrics | 14 years ago |

To me this song is about death, whether suicide or some other way of dying I don't know, but it was obviously tragic. The singer seems to not quite verbalize the fact that the subject of the song, Timothy, has died. It seems more like he's gone rather than he's not coming back. The lyric "Did it hurt when you hit the ground" I love, I don't know what it means to the writer, it struck me as this: He lived his life so fully, that when he died it wasn't as if he was going up to a heaven, but more like he was hitting the ground. Like, how could heaven even compare to his life. But I suppose the real meaning always remains with the writer. In any case, wonderful, sad song. |
