Building 429 – One Time Too Many Lyrics 13 years ago
I relate to this song so much more than other Christian songs. I love how he is so honest about the fact that he keeps stumbling and messing up, and he is calling out to God to please help him change his ways so he won't keep messing up. This pretty much describes my own walk with God-- constantly messing up, constantly falling short, and asking for God's help. I relate to this more than the worship-y "You are my savoir and I love you, I surrender all" songs that seem dominate Christian radio these days.

Building 429 – I Belong to You Lyrics 13 years ago
I don't normally classify Building 429 as "worship" music, but this song is definitely in that particular category. This song is about trusting God as your creator, Lord, and savoir. I think it's pretty straightforward, really.

Building 429 – Alive Lyrics 13 years ago
This song is about acknowledging one's own immortality, reflecting on their life experiences, and a declaration to live for the moment instead of worrying about death. He reflects on his past experiences and admits that he realizes that life is short ("this life of brevity"), yet he is still alive now and still has time left. The song's bridge, "We're alive, to glorify, the maker of this life" is his declaration that with God, his life is worth living and he doesn't have to fear death because he trusts Him.

In my opinion, this is one of the more empowering Building 429 songs.

Pillar – Rewind Lyrics 14 years ago
I first heard this song back in 2005, and it still to this day brings tears to my eyes every time I listen to it!

Personally, I do not necessarily see this as a religious song, although I can completely understand why someone would. To me, this song is about reflecting back on a time in your past with regret. It is about remembering a time when someone loved you very much, but you didn't appreciate their love and shut them out, and they were deeply hurt by you. Now, looking back, you can clearly see how much they tried to be there for you, and you just pushed them away. You wish more than anything that you could "rewind" back to that time and take it all back, and appreciate everything they did for you.

Pillar – One Thing Lyrics 14 years ago
To me, this song is about how denial can isolate us from others, and eventually from ourselves. It's about how we sometimes are so determined to ignore the truth-- even though we know that we are wrong-- that we pretend that whatever the issue at question is doesn't exist. This causes us to put up a wall between ourselves and others, who most likely feel the same way, and then we lose part of ourselves. Ultimately, this song is reassurance that if we own up to the problem, then we will be surprised to learn that others relate and that it's okay.
